things i like...

about my book
(yes, 'tis feels quite odd to say "my book")

* i like the rounded corners.

* i like the feel of the front cover.

* i like the hand stitched postcard and little loved barcode.

* i like that my grandmother's pesky pom pom squirrel is tucked into my apron pocket on the front cover.

* i like that it sits perfectly perfect in my hands.

* i like the chunky spine a whole lot.

* i like that it is part of the Suitcase Series.

* i like the fact 'little lucky bunny' has a whole story all about him illustrated by my brilliant brother

* i like that such an inspiring book, can come from the collaboration of just two folks, one crafty blogger and one independent creative design publisher, yes i think that is quite a thing to like.

* i like very muchly, that Janine and i were fortunate to have so many willing helpers with the handmade details the book required. including Janine's own Mom and her trusty sewing machine

* i like that when i flick through the pages it is everything i hoped it would be and so much more.

* i like that when i think about having dottie angel published in a book, really truly think about this moment, it causes me to well up inside. i never thought anything else in my life would match the moments of my children being born, but this moment sits alongside there nicely.

* i like very muchly to think this book would not be what it is without you, my dearest readers for which i am thanking you kindly today.

and most of all

*i hope you will like it too

she will be back on monday with a little giveaway, till then, be safe my brilliantly brilliant 'i spy' dearies ~ Tif

Love reading about the book. It is a pleasant distraction while I wait out this pesky hurricane. Unlike DH, I cannot sleep through such a big storm. Am happy to hear your sweet child is ok. And happy to drift off, even for a few minutes, to a kinder, gentler world. Thanks.

i am completely and utterly overwhelmed by your response to my book post... as i sit here today reading each and every comment i tell myself just how fortunate i truly am to have such kindness from others come my way.
thank you from the very bottom of my crafty heart!

as for getting hold of a copy.
you can find it here on UPPERCASE site http://shop.uppercasegallery.ca/collections/books
and also a list of UPPERCASE stockists can be found here
http://uppercase.squarespace.com/distribution/
and in a few weeks or sooner i hope to have some available in my etsy shop.
i appreciate it is somewhat tricky as the book is not available in mainstream book stores. however as you can see, going with an independent publisher was an important part of making this book what it is. for Janine was able to bring the handcrafted elements for this book come alive.
both Janine and myself cannot thank you enough for the support you have given us with the pre-orders, orders and your words of congratulations and support.
for that very reason we are both thanking you kindly :)

Hi Tif,
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed being a part of your book project, everyone at our shop took great care in the work they did, from production planning, prepress, our press crews and all of the people in our bindery that worked so diligently applying the card, label and packaging together with the incredible envelope of goodies. It was a fun project and we wish you continued success with Dottie Angel!
Kindest regards,
Chris Young

Hello Tif. Having pre-ordered your book so long ago thru Uppercase, it was such a nice surprise to find it in the mail yesterday! My eyes have been glued to it every spare moment I get. And I just wanted to tell you how much I love the book. You are such an inspiration and I am kicking myself for not reading your blog sooner.

My copy arrived from Uppercase! Just in time, as I was confined to my bed with a very rare cold...I curled up there under a quilt crocheted by my Grandmother Mary, and read it from front to back and back again. I love the book, and got so many great ideas...I'm know to you bolg, so it's delightful to find that there is MORE. I hope you have a wonderful time in Minneapolis..!
