signs...

there are signs all over the shed that Our #1 has been back living here for a few weeks. funny how you get use to someone not being around and then within moments of them being back you realize it is the silly things you have missed the most...

tomorrow Our #2 moves to the East Coast and next tuesday Our #1 heads back across the pond to old blighty. the weeks have rushed on by and now i find myself feeling just like i did this time last year. a little lost, a little piece of me missing (two pieces this time) and just like last year, i will count my blessings and i know it will be okay.

she is messing around with jars from her fridge again ~ Tif

Ack, those peanuts would just make my day! You know you're a nice person when your offspring draw cute faces on peanuts. I'm just sayin...

P.S. I would like to invite you to guest post for Celebrate Color, an multi-crafty event I'm organizing this fall. Emma Lamb, Anna of Noodlehead and Mollie of Wild Olive are some of the other guest posters. Some crochet from you would be a most spiffy addition!

Really uplifting photo. Peanuts can smile so why can't we? I love the patterned bowl you've got there. Hoping everything's okay (:

I know the feeling. My mantra was, "He's doing exactly what I planned, for the last 18 years, for him to do." Still, it hurts to let go.
But how can you eat them now?

Oh, I know exactly how you feel. It was really hard for me when my youngest joined the Marines and went off to Afghanistan. I think it's hardest on us moms to have an empty nest and I still worry every day, even though I try not to.

aw, that's so sad, hope the fridge therapy helps..it is the hardest thing to be a mum letting go however old they are...but we guess it gives you more places to visit on your travels...

I'm sending you cheerful, happy wishes for when your #2 heads to the East coast tomorrow Tif.

These wishes will keep you cheerful and happy 'til your #1 heads back to Blighty next Tuesday. Then you may have a little weep into your lovely lacey hanky, and remember at that point they will again soon be back at Mossey Shed.

Then you will not need happy wishes from across the pond to keep you cheerful, as you will be busy selling your new book, and designing the most awesome projects and goodness for Christmas :o)

Here are those wishes ***w*i*s*h*e*s*** :o)
Take care Tif. Your blessings are four plus one and they will always be with you :o)

I have driven my family mad with my empty jars as there is no longer room in the cupboards for full ones :o)

Have a good week though lovely Tif.
And i hope your #2 has a fandabby time on the east coast :o)

Love Donna xx

Maize, i cannot even begin to imagine how it must feel for mothers such as yourself, it must be so incredibly hard. i am sending you a cyber hug :)

Rachel, drop me a line at tif@dottieangel.com as i could not find anything about it on your blog :)

Nobody told me that the comings and goings of a grown child would take pieces of me apart with them...I'm always feeling a bit unglued by it all. I have a 23 year old now. This time of being a mama has been really the hardest. Thanks for sharing your heart.

oh linden, you are not alone... it is the strangest feeling and it can hit so hard. but just like others have so wisely said to me, the fact you feel this way is because you have done your job at mothering so well.
be proud of yourself my dear :)
